Damien Drea is a musician, songwriter and music therapist. He has been writing , recording and releasing music for over 20 years. He is the son of two professional musicians which exposed him to music from an early age. His initial interest and passion for music has developed into a life -long career, that has seen him work with multitude of talented musicians and producers that include Nick Seymour (Crowded House) and Richard Rainey (U2) which has taken him to festivals and venues all over the world. Damien has utilized music and songwriting as a creative therapeutic process that has provided sanctuary for deep reflection, freedom, self- expression and emotional exploration.
Having completed an MA in Music Therapy at the University of Limerick and graduated in 2022, he is trained to deliver group and individual music therapy sessions. Experienced at delivering music therapy programmes across varying settings that include primary and secondary level education, ASD support centres and mental health facilities, he has worked with children and adolescents with ASD, adolescents with emotional or behavioural issues, older adults experiencing dementia and adults experiencing mental health difficulties.
